It’s been quite a year here at the label! Thanks to all the rad artists we’ve had the pleasure of working with, and all the many people supporting what we do along the way. Here are a few of this year’s highlights:
In January we put the finishing touches on Tiger Dare‘s exquisite “Wires Over, Wired In”, and the dreamy 6 song record was the perfect elixir to the coming Spring. Vice’s Noisey dropped the first single “Good Times,” and Pitchfork praised the record, saying “I’m sure neurologists can explain exactly what it is about the guitar tone of Tiger Dare’s “Morning After Morning” that makes one’s brain believe time travel is a realistic possibility.” They played a series of great shows throughout the year with Andrew Cedermark, Ought, Tape Deck Mountain, and others.
Boyd Shropshire released his second full-length, “Victory Weather” amid the heat of mid-summer. The hazy, sweet “Valentine” and “Every Winter” contrasted with the more upbeat “Soon” which Nylon called “pure lo-fi bliss.”
September 30th Curtin released the dark and heavy rocker “One For The Doghearted”, which included a guest appearance from Wilco’s Mikael Jorgenson on 4 tracks. They hit the road for a month long tour, which included two appearances in NY with other Wonderland bands as part of CMJ.
Since then, we’ve been busy. The new year will bring a new release from June Child, plus many more projects in the works. Stay tuned!
